Much of the country will be warmer this week, but unfortunately those who might need it most will miss out. The southwest flow that brought cooler temperatures over the weekend has moved on, allowing temperatures to rebound back to summer. DOMINICO ZAPATA/STUFF Southland regions were expected to miss out on this warm, dry weather, MetService meteorologist Peter Little explained. Although these temperatures were quite warm, MetService was not expecting it to result in a heat wave. Southland regions which were hit by heavy rains and flooding last week weren't going to benefit from the warm, dry weather, Little explained.
