The 90-year-old, who was arrested last year, died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital early on Wednesday, said prison authorities. Solaiman was accused of crimes like murder, rape and arson during the 1971 Liberation War. The case was later moved to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT). Solaiman was arrested on Jun 14, 2015 after the tribunal issued a warrant for him. According to case documents, Solaiman and his accomplices along with the Pakistani forces committed crimes like murder, rape, loot and arson in Hindu-majority areas of Shariatpur's Palang Upazila between May 22 and 25 in 1971.
