Hearing Ritter talk about the company’s Cyber Range and cyber attack simulations with Fortune 500 executives reminded me of Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy averting a real nuclear war at the hands of a computer program run amuck. These cyber security jobs are not just about hackers or programmers, but Cybersecurity Awareness Trainers, technical writers, product marketers and more. While interviewing for marketing roles at IBM Security, Ritter learned about a new project at the company called the Cyber Range. She helped to build a fully immersive, live fire experience for a business team to experience dealing with a cyber attack. Ritter says that while many people discount a career in cyber security because it is super technical or tactical, the truth is that many people would be well qualified.
