THE Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on Tuesday, inaugurated a 60 Kilo Watts Solar Photovoltaic Connected Mini-Grid Project in Torankawa town, Yabo Local Government of Sokoto State. The Model Project was successfully executed by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, while it was funded by the Sovereign Green Fund, under a Public-Private Partnership Agreement. Senator Wamakko described the project as part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s unrelenting commitment to bolster the welfare, security and comfort of Nigerians, especially the masses and the rural dwellers. He appealed to the residents of the community to jealously guard the project by using it wisely, as well as protecting it from vandalism. The District Head of Torankawa, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed Maishanu lauded the Federal Government for the invaluable gesture and promised that the residents would use the project judiciously, as well as jealousy.
