The Dow Jones opened more than 300 points lower, exacerbating yesterday’s fall of more than 400 points and representing a drop of more than 1.5 per cent. The Dow was trading at about 24,325 approaching 5pm today, still just under 300 points points down on the day. The S&P 500 followed the Dow lower, shedding about 20 points to roughly 2,657 by about the same time.
