A late-afternoon burst of buying on Wall Street helped reverse most of a stock market sell-off Tuesday, nudging the S&P 500 to its first gain after a five-day losing streak. The Nasdaq lost 0.5 percent as technology stocks fell for a sixth straight day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, which is less exposed to tech stocks than the two other indexes, managed to rise by 0.1 percent. Facebook, Disney, Netflix and other communications stocks helped drive the market’s comeback. Tesla, which joined the S&P 500 at the end of last year, ended 2.2 percent lower after being down by 13.4 percent.
