Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich convicted in Russia A Russian court sentenced Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich to 16 years in a maximum-security prison. He was convicted of espionage charges in what the U.S. government has denounced as a sham trial. The White House says it is continuing to push for his release.
