Kashmir will wake up to a new year of freedom, as SMS service will be restored in the valley from midnight on Tuesday, i.e. Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal made the announcement on this day, adding that internet services will also be restored in government-run hospitals in the valley from December 31 midnight. While landline telephones were gradually restored first, postpaid mobile services were resumed later. Broadband internet services are being restored in the valley in a phased manner, according to BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav. The government has also provided internet facilitation centres to help students and youth to use internet services.
