This morning the Wanaka CBD is all but empty as the town prepares for the flood waters to enter Ardmore St. Earlier story:At 7am Otago Regional Council reported the lake water level was at 279.977metres but at 8am it had risen to 280.024m. This level is now above the January 2013 peak (279.4m), but well short of the November 1999 peak (281.3m). The town is well prepared for the flood, it is just waiting. QueenstownMeanwhile, in Queenstown, Alan Bouglas, general manager of lake front pub Pog Mahones, said staff decided to put sandbags and tarpaulin sheets in place as a "precautionary measure".
