The Racing Integrity Unit (RIU) and Waikouaiti Trotting Club Officials met early this afternoon to inspect the track. The Waikouaiti track will be inspected on Friday morning to assess its suitability for Saturday's meeting. The Waikouaiti racecourse only has three race meetings each year with an annual thoroughbred race day and an annual two-day harness meeting. In January, the Waikouaiti gallops were called off after just one race after the track was deemed unsafe for racing. The postponement of tomorrow's trotting meeting is unrelated to the issue that caused the abandonment, Williams said.
