Waikato woman takes Kiwi teaching techniques to Sri LankaCHILDFUND Sally Angelson used to teach English as a second language. ChildFund New Zealand aims to raise at least $96,000 to train 115 teachers across 23 schools in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. It shares Kiwi-influenced teaching techniques with teachers, and trials have been run in Zambia and the Batticaloa region of Sri Lanka. That's how she became an aid worker - going from a volunteer on the ship to running a teaching programme, as the trip travelled through 65-odd countries. Part of the Atlas programme is making simple changes to classrooms, such as putting desks into pods and resources on the walls.
