The pharmacist, who has interim name suppression, appeared before the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal hearing in Hamilton on Monday. The witness said when she told the pharmacist about the theft, his first response was "will I get de-registered?". Counsel for the pharmacist, Harry Waalkens QC, said the pharmacist had lodged his error with Medsafe and the Ministry of Health instead. Later in questioning the witness was asked whether she believed the pharmacist was involved in the break-in.
