(file photo)A hunter who activated his emergency locater beacon after he accidentally stabbed himself while gutting his kill has been praised for being prepared by a seasoned Waikato Hunter. He activated his emergency locator beacon and was rescued by the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter on Saturday at about 10pm. Waikato branch president of the New Zealand Deerstalkers Association David Hudson praised the hunter for having life saving equipment with him when he was out hunting. Hudson said the beacon was just as important as hunting equipment.
