By SILAS APOLLOMore by this AuthorThe Kirinyaga County government has begun registering women at its hospitals in an initiative dubbed ‘Linda mama’. The programme, which is an extension of the national government’s Linda Mama maternity drive, will see pregnant women receive free maternal and child healthcare services. It will provide ante-natal care, caesarean section births, post-natal care and skilled health personnel during delivery for all mothers in the county. Governor Anne Waiguru has said her county aims to provide quality and affordable healthcare to all residents. “My government is working in alignment with the national government’s goal of universal healthcare, and as such we are working tirelessly to ensure that quality and affordable healthcare is accessible to all people of Kirinyaga,” said Ms Waiguru.
