Winnipeg police made an arrest last week in a cross-country drug-smuggling network they'd been chasing since May. Max Waddell shows the compartment where police found cash and cocaine:This hidden compartment was built into the bumper of a 2018 Nissan Murano to hide hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and three kilograms of cocaine, Winnipeg Police Service Insp. Investigators found cash, drug paraphernalia, brass knuckles and substances believed to be cocaine, MDMA and psilocybin. The cocaine seized in Regina weighed just over a kilogram, with an estimated value of between $90,000 and $100,000, Waddell said. Waddell's unit has seized more than 40 kilograms of cocaine in Manitoba since March, though there is no link between this bust and previous ones, he said.
