WWI hand grenade in 'unstable condition' found in potato shipment to crisp factory

The grenade was discovered at the Calbee Four Seasons Company factory in Hong Kong, although the potato shipment came from France. Worryingly, the grenade, which measured about 8cm wide, was in an ‘unstable condition’, according to a report by AFP . This forced the Hong Kong Police to detonate the grenade outside the factory. A video of the detonation was posted on Twitter , showing the police playing the grenade in a hole, before blasting it with a high-pressure water jet.
