WWE SmackDown has played hot potato with the career of Rusev, but the latest indications are that "The Bulgarian Brute" is in line for a renewed push on the blue brand. Despite Rusev developing into WWE's hottest merchandise seller in late 2017, WWE continuously waffled on its booking of him. Then, Rusev shockingly took the clean loss on the grandest stage of them all, and that very same week, WWE edited "Rusev Day!' Now, however, it seems WWE has once again reversed course on Rusev. A couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, WWE began setting the stage for a split between Rusev and Aiden English, collectively known as "Rusev Day," with it appearing that Rusev would rejoin forces with his real-life wife Lana.
