WWE Breaks Merchandise, Digital Media Records at WrestleMania 33

WrestleMania 33 was the biggest show of the year for WWE, and the company has announced even more details about the record-breaking attendance and earnings numbers. On Thursday, WWE announced that it had generated $3.7 million in merchandise revenue, making it the second-highest grossing WrestleMania in the company’s history, behind only WrestleMania 32 in Dallas last year. The merchandise sales at WrestleMania 33 were an increase of $2.3 million—164 percent—from WrestleMania 24 in the same building, the Orlando Citrus Bowl. The success wasn’t just limited to WrestleMania 33, as WWE managed to sell out five consecutive nights of live events, including the 2017 Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT TakeOver Orlando, Raw and SmackDown Live. The WWE Network numbers alone make Sunday’s event the most-watched WrestleMania in history.
