WV cops named by Duterte ordered to surrender firearmsIloilo City— Officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) named by President Rodrigo Duterte as alleged drug protectors are ordered to surrender their licensed firearms until 12 noon today at Camp Delgado in Iloilo City, the regional capital of Western Visayas. PRO-6 has been in the national limelight since July 2016 when Duterte named Chief Superintendent Bernardo Diaz, former PRO-6 director, as one the five police generals who are alleged drug coddlers. “Based on the latest pronouncement of the President issued early dawn today, all mentioned personnel are recalled,” said Senior Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, spokesman of Police Regional Office (PRO-6), in a text message.
