Third-seeded Belinda Bencic of Switzerland took home her second title of the season on Sunday, coming from a set down to beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the finals of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Pavlyuchenkova, the 2014 champ, has now lost four of her five meetings against Bencic. Bencic qualified for the WTA Finals Shenzhen by winning her semifinal on Saturday, and now joins Naomi Osaka as the only players in the field entering on a winning streak. We were so happy yesterday, celebrating (qualifying for the WTA Finals) and this is the cherry on top,” said Bencic. “I knew (Goerges is) a great player, I knew she’s serving really well, so I prepared for a battle,” said Ostapenko, per the WTA.
