The Wall Street Journal editorial board has a long history of liking tax relief only when it benefits the wealthy. Last year, the Journal board slammed rebates for middle- and working-class New Jerseyans, while praising tax cuts for rich Ohioans (FAIR.org, 7/16/21). The paper’s editorial page (6/27/22) lambasted progressive tax rebates in California as a “bribe…to vote Democratic” in the upcoming midterm elections. It is clear where the Wall Street Journal editorial board stands.
