The World Health Organisation (WHO) is urging African countries to be on high alert for a possible surge in COVID-19 cases. Based on this analysis, WHO said local governments will be able to adjust their public health measures accordingly and be agile in their decision-making. The agency has since launched the "Mask Up, Not Down" campaign as part of an effort to revitalise key public health measures. WHO is urging governments to invest in engaging communities and winning their buy-in and support for life-saving public health measures.
