With all of the media attention surrounding Canelo Alvarez's positive drug test for Clenbuterol leading up to his rematch with Gennady Golovkin, I wrestled with whether or not to write about it. What are the mitigating circumstances, such as "tainted meat," and how are they taken into account when determining whether to punish a fighter? Wait a second — is it possible that a taco is to blame for Alvarez's positive test? I'm not here to offer an opinion simply because I couldn't possibly know whether Alvarez took Clenbuterol, or whether he ate tainted meat. Sulaiman also expressed that there had been no formal objection from Golovkin's team regarding the positive test.
