Located in the heart of London’s docklands, the scheme set record sale values during its first phase, while last week Ballymore signed a €92m three-year loan agreement with Lloyd’s Bank for a mixed-use scheme comprising 20,000 square metres of office and flexible workspace at the wider Nine Elms development. All told, Ballymore Properties’ UK operation which is headed up Roscommon-born Sean Mulryan’s son, John, is involved in the development of over €2bn worth of commercial and residential properties at Nine Elms, where the new US embassy opened for business earlier this week. Ballymore sold the site on which the new US embassy now sits to the US government in 2008. Asked by independent.ie last week for their reaction to US president Donald Trump’s tweet in which he described the US embassy's move from its former home at Grosvenor Square to London's docklands as a "bad deal" in an "off location", a spokesman for Ballymore said: "Ballymore has sent him a map of Central London with Nine Elms and the US embassy marked on it for him."
