Independent.ie confirmed on Monday that Arsenal have agreed a club record deal to sign Aubameyang, but his arrival appears to be dependent on Dortmund signing a replacement on transfer deadline day. Arsenal’s website recorded an interview with Wenger after their 3-1 defeat at Swansea on Tuesday that was presumably designed to be used once Aubameyang’s transfer was confirmed, but it was posted a little too soon. “It’s good news,” declared Wenger. “At the moment we are not efficient enough going forward and I’m convinced he can give us that. He is welcome.”
