Pilot Nick Wallis and Department of Conservation workers Paul Hondelink and Scott Theobald died when the helicopter crashed as it took off from Wānaka Airport. The Alpine Group is majority owned by Nick Wallis’ father Tim Wallis and other family members are shareholders.
