Voyeurism suspect released after police investigation at Ontario university

A person detained by police at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ont., on Friday has been released unconditionally after investigators determined the incident was not criminal. The teenaged male was detained at the Chancellor Paterson Library on Friday around 6:30 p.m., after a complaint by a woman at the library about a suspicious person, Thunder Bay police said. In a communications bulletin issued Saturday, the university said campus security responded to a voyeurism complaint Friday evening, and that security helped Thunder Bay police officers apprehend the suspect. Last year, university president Brian Stevenson promised heightened security at the library; at the same time, the investigation into those matters was turned over to Thunder Bay police. The university said that people on campus should always remain vigilant and to immediately report suspicious activity to campus security or police.
