Voting had not kicked off in Nyakach, Nyando and Muhoroni constituencies two hours after polling stations were opened on Thursday. Voters kept off Kobura and Lela polling stations in Nyando, contrary to the August 8 scenario where residents reported as early as 3am. Some of the polling stations were closed following NASA principal Raila Odinga instruction for a boycott. This was also the case at Makadara Social Hall, Imani ECD, Athi River, Mavoko and St Paul's primary schools in Athi River, and Katani, Mlolongo and Mulu Musia Gardens in Machakos sub-county. Police officers raided bars and pubs in Athi River town and arrested operators and those found drinking.
