CHENNAI: Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu assembly M K Stalin came to the defence of actor Kamal Haasan who is under fire from state ministers for his corruption remarks against the ruling government. "No government department is free from corruption," Kamal Haasan declared on Wednesday during a press meet in Chennai.Throwing his weight behind the actor, Stalin said, "Kamal Haasan is only reflecting the sentiments of the people. It is the right of every voter, including Kamal Haasan, to criticise the benami and horse-trading government in power. "On Sunday, law minister C V Shanmugam said the actor deserved to be booked under provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for the "slum behaviour" remark made a participant in the Bigg Boss TV show hosted by Kamal.On Saturday, minister for municipal administration S P Velumani threatened to conduct an audit to find out if the actor Haasan had paid taxes for all his films.
