Prisoners are given the opportunity to explore their creativity at Springhill with volunteer, Grant Sharman who paints with his mouth. Grant Sharman had a life plan which should have seen him join the airforce and fly Hercules around the world, get behind the controls of an Air New Zealand jumbo and retire by 50. However, life didn't pan out for Sharman, with 58-year-old tetraplegic mouth painter now instead volunteering at Spring Hill Corrections facility. Sharman's life changed when he was 15-years-old playing rugby at King's College and broke his neck. Christel Yardley/Stuff Grant Sharman tells the inmates that he's not there to teach them he's there to facilitate.
