IT leader Infosys’ former CEO Vishal Sikka has been elected to the supervisory board of BMW Group and his term extends to 2023, the carmaker said.BMW, which is betting on autonomous driving and electric mobility, held its annual general body meeting on Thursday in Munich. The company said Sikka had no other board nominations."Dr. Sikka is grateful for being elected to the BMW supervisory board and looks forward to engaging with the leaders of this iconic company," a spokesperson for Sikka told ET in an email.ET reported earlier that Sikka has been working on an artificial intelligence startup since his departure from Infosys.Sikka has also joined Stanford University’s artificial intelligence centre in March as a member of the advisory committee, along with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. He was a board member of business software maker SAP before joining Infosys in 2014. "An AI PhD alumnus from Stanford, Dr. Sikka is also looking forward to serving as an advisor to Stanford University’s HAI.
