The owners of Naruwan restaurant in Timaru are counting the days to when they can reopen. “We have a chef waiting in New Zealand, but we have to change his work visa conditions,’’ Angel Lin, who co-owns the restaurant in partnership with her mother, Sunny Wen, said. “I have no idea how long it will take, hopefully not too far away because I sent the application to Immigration NZ in December.’’The restaurant closed in March 2020 as Covid-19 struck. The closure was made permanent in September until the chance of reopening became a possibility in November if a chef could be found. Many former patrons of the restaurant were keen to see it reopen, Lin said.
