The problem was resolved later in the day. “Visa had a system failure that impacted customers across Europe,” the company said. It added that the problem was the result of a hardware failure and that the company didn’t believe it “was associated with any unauthorized access or malicious event.”Most Visa card transactions in Europe are processed in one location outside of London. That is where the company’s investigation was focused and where the hardware failure was found.
