A man with a history of violence, including sex offences and a previous manslaughter conviction, is expected to live in Winnipeg after being released from jail on Tuesday, police say. He has a criminal record that includes violence and sexual offences, police said, including the assault for which he was given the 10-year sentence. His record also includes a number of other violence offences. In 2006, he was convicted of two counts of assault, assault causing bodily harm and other offences, and was sentenced to three years in prison. The information about Charlette was released by the Manitoba integrated high-risk sex offender unit, a joint Winnipeg Police Service and RCMP unit.
