Moderate to high voter turnout was recorded in the bypolls for two assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh where BJP and Congress workers clashed in a couple of places in Ater constituency of Bhind district.In Ater, the final voter turnout stood at 58.90 per cent, while in Bandhavgarh the figure was at 67.16 per cent.There were several instances of stone pelting and reports of alleged firing in Ater. Congress candidate from the constituency Hemant Katare accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) goons of attacking his car and also of booth capturing.State Chief Electoral Officer Saleena Singh, interacting with the media, admitted there were attempts at malpractices in certain booths but asserted that there was no booth capturing.
