BERJAYA Group founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan, the man with the “Midas touch”, is still putting his bets in the right places. The entrepreneur is looking at new opportunities to elevate the conglomerate to the next level, including expanding the group’s lottery business in Malaysia and other Asian countries. Tan said lottery is a lucrative business for Berjaya and it will continue to be the major earnings contributor to the group. Recognising and overcoming the common snag associated with growth, Tan said it was essential for the lottery business to continue to grow and prosper. “So, generally we are entrepreneurial, but we are also cautious,” said Tan, adding that Berjaya Group will also sell (existing assets) when there are opportunities.
