Villagers sue 10 agencies over potashResidents of Dan Khun Thot district in Nakhon Ratchasima have filed an administrative lawsuit against 10 state agencies, seeking accountability over alleged environmental damage caused by a potash mining project. The suit was lodged on Thursday with the Nakhon Ratchasima Administrative Court by representatives of the Dan Khun Thot Homeland Preservation Group, comprising 89 villagers from Nong Sai and Nong Bua Takiat. The plaintiffs authorised lawyers from the Environmental Law Foundation (Enlaw) and the Public Policy on Mineral Resources Project to file the complaint. The plaintiffs asked the court to revoke these approvals and compel state agencies to halt harmful operations. Residents said problems began in 2022, when white salt crusts appeared on floors and walls of homes in Nong Sai, 3km from the mine's tunnel.
