Police arrested a man named, Mohammed Ali, father of the suspected rapist Rabbi Miah, 30 after a case was lodged with Rupganj police station on Monday. Along with the prime accused Rabbi, 30, --who raped the woman for last 1.5 years,-- the other accused Rafikul, Nabir Hossain, Salauddin, Bekari Mithu, Mizan were named in the case because of their involvement in threatening and banishing the victim’s family from Hatipara village. The case statement said, Rabbi had raped the girl for the last 1.5 years with a promise of marriage and when she got pregnant he denied to marry her. When he ghosted the girl, she complained to his family and later was asked to join the arbitration meeting. Despite her strong claim, the girl alleged, she was insulted, threatened and later banished from her village by the accused people.
