Liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Friday informed a Delhi court that he was willing to come to India but could not travel to his country as his passport had been revoked. He made this submission in an application filed through his lawyer in reply to his summoning by the court in connection with a FERA violation case of 2000. Matta, said that Mr. Mallya was evading arrest in several other cases. Later, the court asked the ED to file a reply to Mr. Mallya’s plea by October 4, 2016. In July 2016, the court withdrew its earlier order allowing Mr. Mallya exemption from personal appearance in the case and summoned him for September 9.
