General News of Monday, 18 March 2019Source: peacefmonline.comVigilantism: We don’t bother involving UN, ECOWAS to make NDC feel comfortable - John BoaduJohn Boadu, General Secretary of the NPPGeneral Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu says it is not a bother for the ruling party to involve the Civil Society groups including United Nations (UN) and Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) in the discussion on ending vigilantism as proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). However, he believes, it is imperative that both parties come to a perfect understanding at the preparatory stage before involving other stakeholders in the discussion to bring finality to vigilantism. “Notwithstanding any of the things we are going to do, it will be necessary that we understand each other and not UN and ECOWAS getting involved. But if their presence in the meeting will make the NDC feel comfortable, we don’t really bother so much about it,” he stated. He, however, indicated that the NPP will still continue to engage the NDC is even prepared to use fiat to invite them "so we can move forward".
