TORONTO — A downtown Toronto community will come together this evening to mourn the deaths of several men in the LGBTQ community at the hands of an alleged serial killer. Bruce McArthur, a 66-year-old self-employed landscaper, has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of five men, and police have said they believe there are more victims. The revelations came after a months-long search by police for Esen and Kinsman, as well as other men from Toronto’s LGBTQ community who had been missing for years. A candlelight vigil will be held at the Metropolitan Community Church in Toronto’s east-end, which was an early adopter of same-sex marriage ceremonies. A release from the church says the vigil will provide “a safe space to grieve, remember, and support one another.”
