On one hand, this can be used by detractors to accuse me of inconsistency, but on the other hand, surely views are allowed to evolve over a decade. One shift I readily admit to is being too ideological in the past, and more pragmatic in accepting public policy possibilities today. At the same time, one can continue to hope that those who do take the political route retain a strong moral fibre.
