Internet speed in the country slowed down last month when the AAG cable, which accounts for more than 60 of Vietnam’s international traffic, underwent a scheduled maintenance. The source from Viettel, a major service provider, said the TGN-Intra Asia Cable System (TGN-IA) has been damaged since late last month. The TGN-IA cable is used by many service providers in Vietnam, including Viettel, FPT Telecom, CMC, and VNPT. A damaged intra-Asia submarine cable system will be repaired between Jul. 19, which will hurt Vietnam's international internet traffic, a source told Thanh Nien.
