Tan Son Nhat, which is receiving between 650-750 flights a day, will give priority of the other runway to international flights. Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday morning closed a runway which was struck by lightning, forcing many carriers to reschedule their flights. Managers at the airport said the incident left a hole around 60 centimeters wide on the runway. The same runway was closed in July last year also due to lightning strikes. Passengers will not be compensated for flight delays or cancellations due to natural reasons, according to Vietnam’s aviation rules.
