The 47th International Physics Olympiad was held between July 10 and 18. Dinh Thi Huong Thao holds the Vietnamese flag as she receives the award for Best Female Asian Pacific Participant at the International Physics Olympiad 2016 in Zurich. Thao, who had also won a gold last year, also received the award for the Best Female Asian Pacific Participant this year. Dinh Thi Huong Thao, a 12th grader from the northern province of Nam Dinh, and Nguyen The Quynh, an 11th grader from the central Quang Binh Province, won the gold medals.
