Players will be summoned in late September before competing with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in a friendly match on October 8 at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi. They will depart for the Republic of Korea seven days later, where they will take part in an intensive course and three games with local squads over the course of two weeks. In the last event, Vietnam stopped at the semi-finals, losing 2-5 to Malaysia after a two-leg match.
