Vietnam seeks ways to tighten relations with RussiaPolitburo member Truong Thi Mai, who is Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for Mass Mobilisation, paid a working visit to Russia from September 10-13. Vietnam appreciates the KPRF’s support for a policy of strengthening ties with Vietnam pursued by the Russian President and Government, Mai stated. The Vietnamese official also met Sergei Zheleznyak, Deputy Secretary of the United Russia Party’s General Council and State Duma Deputy Speaker. While in Russia, Mai also met the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country. She affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an integral part and a driving force for the development of the nation.
