Vietnam attends ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting in VientianeA Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung attended the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) held in Vientiane, Laos on July 22. The meeting is designed to prepare for the 49th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and related meetings scheduled to take place two days later. The most important issues of the regional grouping in 2016 will be finalised during the AMM for submission to the ASEAN Summit slated for this September. With the participation of 27 foreign ministers, including 10 from ASEAN member states and 17 partner countries, the AMM is the most important event of the ASEAN diplomatic sector in 2016. During the meeting, participants discussed the AMM agenda, while reviewing documents to be adopted at these meetings.
