Vietnam-Italy relations expanded beyond trade, cultureVice President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Marina Sereni has said she sought to bring the relations between Italy and Vietnam to the next level. Italy and Vietnam set up their diplomatic ties in 1973. Over the past three years, bilateral trade doubled and Vietnam became Italy’s biggest trade partner in ASEAN. Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Cao Chinh Thien affirmed that the ties between Vietnam and Italy have been growing over years. Two-way trade between Vietnam and Italy reached 4.3 billion USD in 2015.
