The pair consented to increase friendship exchanges between border guard forces and promote new cooperation methods to boost comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations. Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides agreed to follow the two countries’ agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea disputes in line with international laws. The meeting was in the framework of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to China to attend the China-ASEAN Expo and the 13 th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.
